These collages are made out of deconstructed books. They make very successful abstracts.

There are some artists who’s work just continually awes, and Guy Laramee is one of those artists. This piece is from his Guan Yin series.
We had an awesome class session the other day at Peabody showcasing some amazing artist books to amazing and talented MICA students! Students had the chance to study a wide range of artist books spanning some 600 years of book history, including poems printed on pasta and on strips of paper inside a wine bottle. Who says old libraries can’t be fun?
A5 wood book, covers made from cherry.

All wood from sustainable sources in Scotland.
Covers finished with danish oil and beeswax polish.
Bound using a chain stitch with linen thread. 130gsm paper.
In future I will be using unbleached hemp paper for my books
